LSU Refrigerator Being Auctioned

lsu-refrigerator6This 2009 “LSU” 18 cu.ft. Frigidaire Refrigerator/Freezer will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on Sunday, April 26th at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Festival in Prairieville. It was custom painted by Brouillette’s Paint and Body Shop. The artwork was done by Sean “Goose” Hanegan, a professional automotive artist. You may view it at Brouillette’s Paint and Body Shop located at 13504 K.C. Road in Gonzales, LA before the auction.

Zurich Classic PGA Golf Tour Pro-Am – Baton Rouge April 22

The Times-Picayune reports that “Baton Rouge gets Zurich Classic pro-am“. And also “this event will mark the first time in more than 40 years that PGA Tour pros will play in Baton Rouge“. HEY…whether you are going or not, check out their interactive map on the Zurich Classic site. Click on one of the yellow or orange “pins” or “tabs” on the course. Pretty cool FLASH graphics!

Hmmm…what was the last PGA Tour event in Baton Rouge? In the 1960’s? Was it the Baton Rouge Open Invitational? Arnold Palmer won the Baton Rouge Open Invitational twice.

Other Baton Rouge Golf Champions have included Ken Venturi, Jimmy Demaret, Bob Toski, Sam Snead, and Jack Burke, Jr.

The Zurich Classic PGA Tour Pro-Am tournament at University Club on April 22nd will give spectators a chance to see some golf professionals tee it up.

The Zurich Classic begins the following day, April 23rd, in New Orleans. The Official Zurich Classic Website has all the information you need, should you decide to watch in New Orleans.

Denham Springs Bass Pro fishing event reels them in

THE ADVOCATE reports, “Bass Pro Shops projects an attendance of 150,000 people for a 17-day event that begins late this month and extends into March at its Denham Springs store.”
