Ranked No. 18

The Town Talk reports, “The LSU men’s basketball team, off two more wins at Arkansas and at home versus Auburn, received a substantial boost from the voters on the two major polls, moving up to No. 18 in both the Associated Press media poll and the ESPN/USA Today coaches polls released on Monday.

The Tigers were No. 23 last week in the AP poll and No. 24 in the coaches’ poll in its first appearance in the polls since the 12th poll of 2006-07 in January 2007“.

LSU Sports reports, “The Tigers, who opened play Monday trailing 10th-ranked Arizona State by six shots, were seven shots better than any other team in the field on the day.

LSU is paired with Arizona State and Georgia Southern in Tuesday’s final round and will tee off from the front nine beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT.”

LSU’s golf team is leading the 2009 John Hayt Invitational at beautiful Sawgrass Country Club. The TPC Sawgrass Stadium Golf Course located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida is home to the annual Tournament Players Championship.

Hmmm… you might see another LSU vs ASU matchup in the Men’s Basketball NCAA’s this year. Both are good and currently “Top 20” teams.
