The Tri-Parish Times reports, “Louisiana students are collecting pennies as part of the state’s celebration of the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth.
The “Children’s Lincoln Penny Campaign” will raise money for UNICEF, to fight the spread of tuberculosis and typhoid. Those are the diseases that killed Lincoln’s three sons.”
This campaign being led by Secretary of State Jay Dardenne.
So, check under your couch and chair cushins, and start collecting all those pennies laying around.
