HEY…whether you are going or not, check out their interactive map on the Zurich Classic site. Click on one of the yellow or orange “pins” or “tabs” on the course. Pretty cool FLASH graphics!

Hmmm…what was the last PGA Tour event in Baton Rouge? In the 1960’s? Was it the Baton Rouge Open Invitational? Arnold Palmer won the Baton Rouge Open Invitational twice.

Other Baton Rouge Golf Champions have included Ken Venturi, Jimmy Demaret, Bob Toski, Sam Snead, and Jack Burke, Jr.

The Zurich Classic PGA Tour Pro-Am tournament at University Club on April 22nd will give spectators a chance to see some golf professionals tee it up.

Louisiana Comes in Last

seatbeltNormally, we are used to reporting that Louisiana is #1, especially when it comes to football, baseball, fishing, hunting, etc. But here is an area that Louisianans need to apply their discipline for winning.

Houma Today reports, “According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Commission, Louisiana is dead last among states that have primary seat-belt enforcement laws. That means that police officers can stop drivers for not wearing their seat belts.”

And “Do what you can get our state moving in the right direction … safely.”

We wholeheartly agree. Get in the habit, and whether you are driving or not, ask everyone in the vehicle to “please put on your seat belt“.
