Normally, we are used to reporting that Louisiana is #1, especially when it comes to football, baseball, fishing, hunting, etc. But here is an area that Louisianans need to apply their discipline for winning.
Houma Today reports, “According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Commission, Louisiana is dead last among states that have primary seat-belt enforcement laws. That means that police officers can stop drivers for not wearing their seat belts.”
And “Do what you can get our state moving in the right direction … safely.”
We wholeheartly agree. Get in the habit, and whether you are driving or not, ask everyone in the vehicle to “please put on your seat belt“.
