Welcome to the TASTE OF LOUISIANA CAFE™ BLOG in Denham Springs, Louisiana! Our family owned and operated café greatly appreciates your patronage. We serve Home Cooked Louisiana Cuisine and we are open for Lunch and Supper in Downtown Denham Springs, Louisiana Antique District. A great place to stop before and after LSU games.

If you live in East Baton Rouge or Livingston Parish, we are just a short drive. We are also only about 40 minutes from New Orleans and not far from Hammond. We offer dine in and carryout.

2012 CAAWS Mystic Krewe of Mutts Mardi Gras Parade in Baton Rouge Louisiana

The Good, The Bad & and The Furry is the theme for this years CAAWS (Capital Area Animal Welfare Society) Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade in Baton Rouge, LA.  Sunday January 29, 2012 from 10:00AM till 4:00PM. Owners with their dogs will be in this Mardi Gras parade.

If you’ve never been to one, this parade is a favorite. Anyone can enter with their dog and all profits go directly to support the CAAWS shelter.

We have a new art gallery up the street from us, Artist Studios Circa 1857 . They are located at 125 N Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA.

You will be able to meet the artists, and step into their creative gallery spaces on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 3 till 6PM. Their phone number is 225-235 – 1504.

We are closed on Sunday ‘s and Monday’s, but hope to see you downtown soon.

Chef’s Evening in Denham Springs, Louisiana ~ Antique District

Update 05Dec11: The event was a great success this year. We met a lot of new people. Thanks to Republic Wine Company for donating Cupcake Chardonnay and Red Velvet wines.  Everyone loved the flavors combined with our seafood stuffed potato and sweet potato bread pudding with praline sauce.

Tickets went on sale Saturday, October 29th, 2011 for the annual Chef’s Evening in the Antique District. The event was held on December 1st, 2011, and featured different restaurants setting up in  establishments all along the Antique District on Range Avenue, here in downtown Denham Springs.

The $25 tickets were very popular. Only 300 were sold. It was great seeing all of you, and we look forward to next year’s event.

Girls Night Out in Denham Springs, LA! Friday, November 4th, 2011 from 6:00-10:00 pm. The most fun you can have for $25.

Nine unique shops will be participating with sales in each one, special discounts and so much more. Includes a delicious dinner-on-the-go, wonderful gifts, desserts, coffee and tea, a chance to win over 50 door prizes and a special “grand door prize” worth $300!

This year they will be selling $5 raffle tickets to win the grand prize, with proceeds going to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

October Fall Festival in Denham Springs LA ~ October 1st 2011

Over 150 vendor booths will line our streets here on Range Avenue in the Denham Springs Antique Village District tomorrow, October 1st, 2011.  To get here take the  I-12 exit #10, then go north about 2 miles. Or, come straight down Florida Blvd from Baton Rouge.

There will be antiques, art, crafts, handmade items, food, music and much more.

Playing at noon will be Ben Bell and the Stardust Boys, then from 1-2pm, King Creole Band. From 2-4pm Floyd Brown’s Band will be preforming at the Train Station Park.

Come dance, eat, shop and have fun with us! We look forward to seeing you!
